At Twitter's development conference, today, they released a ton of stats. And the take home message is that Twitter is huge and continuing to grow at a breakneck pace.

From time to time someone sends me an interesting article from Mashable. Mashable describes itself as,
Judging by the number of GMT users with Twitter accounts, I can deduce that most of you think that Twitter is a powerful communications tool or at least that it has potential and everyone else is doing it so you should too.
Today I heard April Harrington speak on behalf of the Oklahoma Food Coop (OFC). She is currently a producer for the OFC as well as their treasurer. During the question and answer session she was asked how the internet impacts the OFC.
Twitter has added a new feature – lists. The lists are a great way for you to organize the people you follow into personalized lists. The people on your lists are all people you want to follow that share something in common. You select a name for the list and decide who is on the list.
GMT is now following 85 Twitter accounts operated by organizations that are members of GMT. Reading your tweets is an opportunity for use to see what you are up. I have noticed that a lot of people are posting links to news articles, press releases or other websites. Coupling strong headlines and links in your tweets is a great way to get your message out.
All forms of online communication are not the same and you should not treat them like they are. Yes, you can communicate with a person by sending an e-mail, an instant message, an @reply on Twitter, a Facebook message or hosting a webchat, but they are not equal. Think about how you talk with your various personal contacts on a daily basis’s.
