Dear GMT members:

GMT is completing a website upgrade to the Drupal 6 platform that will enhance security and provide the needed routine updates to the core website platform. The upgraded website will launch live on Friday, April 15th.

The launch schedule will include a 24 hour content freeze on the GMT website, and an overnight downtime on the evening of April 14th when the upgrades are applied to the live site.

The content freeze will start at 6 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday April 13th and will continue through the business day on Thursday.

  • The content freeze includes the GMT member center and any press or campaign room that your organization runs through GMT. You cannot add any content on your press or campaign room at this time.

The GMT member center and all press and campaign rooms will go down at 6 p.m. Eastern on Thursday April 14th for the upgrade process and will be live and upgraded at 9 a.m. on Friday.

  • The GMT website will therefore be unavailable from 6 p.m. Eastern on Thursday April 14th through 9 a.m. on Friday April 15th.
  • This includes the main site, www.greenmediatoolshed.org.
  • Press and campaign room sites will also be unavailable during this time.
  • If you have questions about the specific timeframe for this downtime, please contact me.

If you or someone from your organization needs access to the media database during this scheduled downtime to send a distribution, we can provide that for you.

  • Although the media database will be unavailable through the GMT site during this time, we can give members who need access a login through a backup portal.
  • Our site upgrade will not impact any lists, saved searches, activity histories, scheduled distributions, or other information you have stored in the media database.

Please look forward to a few more messages from us in the coming weeks. If you are a press or campaign room owner we will send you additional details on subsite feature upgrades.

If you have any questions, please reach me at (202) 659-7710 x10 or nina@greenmediatoolshed.org.

Sincerely,

Nina Schwartz
