Technotip.org released a great article with over 60 ways to increase your Twitter followers. The author points out that, while it's important to have a large number of followers, it is important to focus on having quality followers who will engage in active conversation and retweet your posts.

A lot of the tips focus on promoting your Twitter URL on your business card, email signature and when you comment on other blogs. The author feels it is just as important to drive traffic to your Twitter profile as it is to drive traffic to your organization's website.

Another interesting state from this article is that on average you have 5 to 7 seconds to convert a profile visitor to a follower.

This is a fairly long article, but there are some great tips. GMT recently started getting more active on Twitter and these tips are very helpful for us.
