Chris Casey, Director of Internet Strategies (Netcentric Campaigns)

Chris Casey serves as Director of Internet Strategy at Netcentric Campaigns  where he manages the development of emerging advocacy networks, bringing experience gained over many years working in the political arena. At some point, long long ago in the early 90's, Chris found himself working for a long serving and notable Senator known to many as EMK, and thanks to help from MIT, EMK got a URL (the first for a member of Congress). Chris helped other Democratic Senators get URLs of their own, and to put important sounding things and recipes on them.  Then Chris wrote a book, to help him remember many of the things that had been happening around and to him (The Hill on the Net: Congress Enters the Information Age, AP Professional, 1996).  Chris came down off the Hill in 2000 to join the rough and tumble of political campaigns full time, working to help those candidates he perceives as being 'the good ones' to have URLs and do other neat things with computers and credit cards. Chris’ work has been recognized by a number of industry awards (Pollie, Golden Dot, Reed). In 1996 he was named by Website Magazine as one of “The 100 Most Influential People on The World Wide Web”, and in 2001 Politics Online name Chris as one of “The 25 Who Are Changing The World of Internet and Politics”.  A Virginian by birth, and a Californian by upbringing (Navy Dad), Chris graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1987 with a degree in Political Science.  When not working, he enjoys researching his family tree, running, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three children.
